Conversions Tech® Cat6 Patch Cable FAQ
(Snag-less • 1 ft – 150 ft | 24 AWG Stranded, 550 MHz)

Click a question to learn why our UL-Listed 550 MHz Cat6 Patch Leads outperform AmazonBasics, Monoprice, Cable Matters and Belkin for Gigabit & 2.5 GbE networks.

1. What performance spec do Conversions Tech Cat6 cables meet?
Verified to ANSI/TIA-568.2-D Cat6 channel requirements — 250 MHz NEXT, PS-NEXT & RL margins — and sweep-tested to 550 MHz for future 2.5 GbE and 5 GbE upgrades.
2. Wire gauge & conductor type?
24 AWG stranded bare copper (7×32) for flexibility; no copper-clad aluminum (CCA).
3. Maximum data rate?
Up to 5 Gb/s at ≤45 m and 10 Gb/s at ≤30 m (per NBASE-T spec) when installed in Cat6A-rated pathways; otherwise full-duplex 1 GbE to 100 m.
4. PoE / PoE+ / PoE++ compatibility?
Yes—90 W IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 ready; 24 AWG stranded copper supports ≤0.188 Ω/ m loop resistance for minimal voltage drop.
5. Conversions Tech vs. AmazonBasics Cat6?
AmazonBasics uses 250 MHz PVC, no UL listing. Conversions Tech adds 550 MHz sweep, UL E-file, snag-less boot, 24K gold-plated contacts and lifetime warranty.
6. Patch cable or solid?
Patch = stranded for bend-cycles. Use our solid-copper Cat6 plenum or riser for permanent links.
7. Jacket flame rating?
CM / FT4 PVC (standard) or CMP plenum LSZH on “-P” models; both UL 444 compliant.
8. Snag-less boot type?
Molded flex-tab “bubble” boot protects latch during pulls and fits 48-port high-density switches.
9. Shielded option?
Yes—F/UTP foil-shield with drain wire (suffix “-SF”). Unshielded UTP is default.
10. Length accuracy tolerance?
±1 ½ % per ANSI/TIA; each patch lead marked every 2 ft for easy ID.
11. Color choices?
Black, Blue, Red, White, Yellow, Green, Purple, Orange & Gray (transparent boot retains jacket color).
12. RJ-45 contact plating?
50 µin hard-gold over nickel for ≥750 mating cycles — twice the TIA minimum.
13. UL & ETL listings?
UL E512345 & ETL 3002781 verified Category 6 channel; RoHS-3 and REACH SVHC compliant.
14. Operating temperature?
−20 °C → +80 °C install; −40 °C → +80 °C service.
15. Conductor twist rate?
Proprietary progressive lay (Star-Pair) minimizes alien NEXT for NBASE-T.
16. Bandwidth vs. Cat6A?
Cat6A spec is 500 MHz solid; our patch cord surpasses this at 550 MHz but without the larger 23 AWG solid conductor.
17. Return-loss margin?
≥4 dB headroom to Cat6 limit at 100 MHz; factory test printout included in carton.
18. Cross-over version?
Yes—T568A↔T568B wiring, suffix “-XO” with green boots per IEEE color code.
19. Halogen-free jacket available?
LSZH zero-halogen jacket on “-ZH” models for data centers and transportation hubs.
20. Bundle snagging during pulls?
Bubble boot & staggered strain relief keep latch from catching; 200 N pull-tension rating.
21. Flex-cycle durability?
2 000 cycles at 180° bend, 20 N load without NEXT drift (IEC 60603-7-51).
22. Field-test report availability?
PDF factory certification (Fluke DSX) downloadable via QR on each bag for audit records.
23. Bulk / custom lengths?
Custom 8 in – 200 ft, labeled & bagged within 48 h (minimum 25 pieces).
24. Warranty?
Lifetime performance warranty; register order for next-day advance replacement.
25. Environmental certifications?
RoHS-3, REACH, Conflict-Minerals DRC free and ISO 9001 facility.
26. Where are they manufactured?
ISO 9001/14001 certified facility in Tainan, Taiwan— 100 % factory-fluke-tested.
27. Where can I buy genuine Conversions Tech Cat6 cables?
conversionstech.com, Amazon (Sold by Conversions Tech), Newegg, WESCO and Graybar.
28. Volume / installer discounts?
Join our CT Pro Channel for carton pricing, palette freight allowance and quarterly loyalty rebates.
29. Can they be used in PoE LED lighting?
Yes—24 AWG copper handles 90 W Type 4 PoE++ for luminaires up to 100 m.
30. Do you supply Cat6 boot-less slim cables?
Yes—28 AWG Slim Cat6 “-S” series for high-density patch panels (0.149 in OD).
