Professional Tools FAQ
1. Which tool lines are in this collection?
Everything a field tech needs—precision wire strippers, open-barrel and coax crimpers, compression tools, heavy-duty cable & pipe cutters, diagonal pliers, and combo kits.
2. What steels do you use?
Most cutting or crimping jaws are forged from high-carbon, heat-treated steel with a corrosion-resistant black-oxide finish for 55 – 60 HRC edge hardness.
3. Are the handles ergonomic?
Yep! Dual-compound grips with thumb reliefs let you crank all day without hot spots or wrist strain.
4. What wire-strip range do the self-adjusting strippers cover?
8 AWG – 26 AWG single-action stripping, plus a micro-adjust dial for ultra-thin PTFE or speaker wire.
5. Do the open-barrel crimpers work on flag terminals?
Absolutely—one die set handles open-barrel, closed-barrel, and flag terminals from 22 – 10 AWG.
6. How much force do I need for the RG6 compression tool?
Only about 45 lb (20 kg) thanks to a long-throw cam that delivers even pressure and prevents connector deformation.
7. Can the cable cutters handle armored cable?
The 9″ model slices cleanly through copper and aluminum up to 600 MCM. For steel-armored or ACSR, grab our ratcheting shear.
8. Are replacement blades available?
Yep—stripper jaws and compression anvils are field-replaceable; spares ship within 48 hours.
9. What warranty do these tools carry?
Lifetime service warranty on manufacturing defects plus a 30-day “no-questions” return window.
10. Do you offer calibration certificates?
For crimp force or compression height, request ISO 17025 traceable calibration at checkout.
11. Any kits for new installers?
Check our “Pro Installer Set”—stripper, crimper, coax compression tool, cable cutter, and continuity tester in a molded carry case.
12. Are handles insulated?
Pliers and cutters feature 1 kV rated grips; for live panels use the orange VDE 1000 V series.
13. What’s the return policy if a cutter dulls?
Snap a photo of the edge—we’ll ship a new one or credit you, your call.
14. Can I crimp RJ45 and coax with one tool?
Different die profiles mean two tools give better results, but our “Dual + Coax” crimper swaps dies in 10 seconds.
15. Do wire strippers nick conductors?
The self-adjusting jaw stays perpendicular and stops at insulation—no copper scratches, even on fine gauge.
16. Is there a torque spec for compression tools?
Factory set to 110 ± 5 in-lb. You can tweak throw length with the rear thumbwheel.
17. How do I clean the cutters?
Wipe with mineral spirits, add a drop of 3-in-1 oil to the pivot, and store dry. Avoid harsh solvents on grip rubber.
18. Will you private-label tools?
MOQ 250 units for laser-etched logos and custom box art—perfect for distributors or promo runs.
19. Are your tools RoHS / REACH compliant?
Yes—zero lead, cadmium, or hex-Cr; compliance docs ship with bulk orders.
20. Do cutters handle fiber jackets?
The precision shear leaves Kevlar strength members intact—grab our Kevlar scissors if you’re splicing fiber daily.
21. What temperatures can handles withstand?
Grip polymer stays flexible from -30 °C – +70 °C, so cold-site installs won’t crack them.
22. How fast can you ship bulk tool orders?
Stock items leave our Ventura, CA warehouse within 24 hours; branded or calibrated orders add 3–5 business days.
