Grounding Accessories
Grounding and bonding accessories — the hardware between the electrode and the equipment: insulated grounding bushings (1/2"–2"), grounding pigtails and 10-32 grounding screws, water heater bonding kits, braided bonding jumpers, and rebar lay-in clamps. What each one is for: a grounding bushing bonds a metal raceway where a locknut alone is not accepted — service equipment (NEC 250.92(B)) and concentric knockouts over 250 V (250.97) — and its 150°C throat covers 300.4(G) for 4 AWG and larger. A pigtail with a listed 10-32 grounding screw keeps the device out of the ground path (250.146, 250.148, 250.8). A water heater bonding kit keeps metal water piping bonded when the heater comes out (250.104(A), 250.68(B)). Braided jumpers bond across expansion fittings and vibration mounts (250.98).
