EMT Connectors
EMT connectors, 1/2" through 3" — steel compression (cross RACO 2902–2908), zinc die-cast set-screw (RACO 2802–2808), raintight compression with insulated throat (RACO 29xxRT), offset connectors for misaligned boxes, straight squeeze connectors, and EMT-to-flex set-screw transitions (Bridgeport 281/282-DC). Choosing: set-screw for indoor dry and damp runs where speed matters; compression where the run is exposed, poured in concrete, or subject to vibration; raintight compression for any wet location — rooftops, exterior walls, wash-down (NEC 358.42). Insulated-throat connectors satisfy NEC 300.4(G) for 4 AWG and larger without a separate bushing. Offset connectors take up the 1/2" step where a box mounts proud of the wall. Steel takes more wrench than die-cast on 1-1/4" and up.
