EMT Locknuts, Bushings & Grounding Bushings
Locknuts, conduit bushings, and insulated grounding bushings, 1/2" through 2" — zinc-plated steel locknuts (cross RACO 1002–1008, Bridgeport 101-S–106-S), steel conduit bushings, and zinc die-cast insulated grounding bushings with 150°C throat and lay-in lug (cross Bridgeport 381–386-DC, Arlington 450–455, O-Z/Gedney IBC-L, Appleton GIB-L). What each does: the locknut holds the connector or nipple to the enclosure — its teeth must bite bare metal, wrench-tight. The bushing threads on inside and rounds the raceway edge to protect conductors; NEC 300.4(G) requires an insulating bushing or fitting for 4 AWG and larger. The grounding bushing adds a lay-in lug so the raceway can be bonded with a jumper where a locknut alone is not accepted: every metal raceway at service equipment (250.92(B)) and raceways in concentric or eccentric knockouts on circuits over 250 V to ground (250.97).
