The 1" Combination Coupling connects Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) to flexible conduit in a single fitting. Engineered for electricians who need to transition from rigid EMT to flexible metal conduit (FMC) or liquid-tight flexible nonmetallic conduit (LFNC) without field fabrication. The zinc die-cast body provides mechanical strength for pull-out resistance while maintaining a compact profile for box fill calculations. Common applications include residential service entries, commercial HVAC connections, industrial machine wiring, and any installation requiring movement accommodation between rigid and flexible conduit systems.

FAQ

What flexible conduit types work with this coupling?

This coupling accepts 1" flexible metal conduit (FMC) and liquid-tight flexible nonmetallic conduit (LFNC) with standard NPT threads. Verify conduit thread compatibility before installation.

Is this coupling suitable for wet locations?

The zinc die-cast body with corrosion-resistant finish withstands damp environments. For wet location rating, the complete assembly including flexible conduit and any sealing requirements must meet NEC Article 350 for LFNC or Article 348 for FMC as applicable.

What torque should be applied to the threaded connections?

Tighten NPT threads per standard conduit installation practice—hand-tight plus approximately 1-1/2 turns with proper tools. Do not overtighten zinc die-cast fittings to prevent thread damage.
