Aluminum hot-line clamps are designed for tap connections on energized aluminum and ACSR overhead lines. Aluminum-alloy castings reduce weight on the line and conductor while improving electrical conductivity compared to bronze — at lower cost. Matched alloys eliminate the galvanic couple that corrodes mixed-metal connections. Tested per ANSI C119.4. Operating temperature −40°C to +90°C. Best suited for ACSR / aluminum utility distribution networks.

Bronze or aluminum? Choose aluminum (IHLA) for ACSR and all-aluminum lines; choose bronze (IHL series) for copper conductors and abrasive / high-temperature service; tin-plated bronze bridges mixed-metal applications.
