CT 610-24101 — UL 467 irreversible compression C-tap grounding connector for a #6–#2 AWG stranded run (or 1/4" rod) with a #6–#2 AWG stranded tap. The open C-body hooks over an uncut run conductor — no threading, no cutting. Listed for direct burial and concrete encasement. Direct cross for Burndy HYGROUND HYTAP™ YGHC2C2 — same 12-ton tool platform, same die.

Where it's used
- Bonding jumpers tapped off #6–#2 grounding conductors — panels, transformers, gates, handrails
- Telecom and small-cell ground bars and halo rings
- Buried taps with no access box (NEC 250.68(A) Exception)
How to install
Wire-brush both conductors to bright metal, hook the C over the uncut run, lay the tap in the smaller saddle with tail past the connector ends, and crimp with the stamped die index until the dies fully bottom — center first, working outward. Full field procedure: How to Crimp Irreversible Compression Grounding Connectors.
Why irreversible compression
NEC 250.64(C)(1) permits grounding electrode conductor splices only by irreversible compression or exothermic welding. Compression installs in wet trenches with no hot-work permit, and every crimp embosses its die index for inspection. More: Where, How, and Why to Use Irreversible Compression Grounding.
