Configure & Quote | Request Sample FAQsWhat’s included with a breakout assembly?MPO trunk with factory fan-out to LC/SC/FC/ST; default LC branch length is 0.6–1.0 m (custom on request).
Female vs male MPO—what’s the difference?Female is pinless with alignment holes; male has alignment pins. Match gender to transceivers/cassettes.
Why default Type-B polarity?Type B preserves straight-through lane mapping common to cassette/transceiver systems. We also build Type A/C.
What loss should I expect in the field?Spec ≤0.35 dB per mated pair (≤0.30 dB typical). Total link loss depends on fiber length and number of mated pairs.
Does the cable use bend-insensitive fiber?Yes—Corning® ClearCurve® MMF improves margin in tight routing with small bend radii.
Is OM5 necessary for my application?OM5 enables SWDM use cases; most 40G/100G SR links run well on OM4. Choose OM class per optical budget and roadmap.
Will this work with SR4/SR8 transceivers?Yes—match core count/lane mapping (e.g., 8-fiber for SR4, 16-fiber for SR8) and confirm polarity.
What about keying (Key-Up/Key-Down)?Type-B trunks typically use Key-Up to Key-Up. If your hardware differs, provide the required keying in the PO.
Can I mix OM classes in the same link?Possible but not recommended—the path performs to the lowest OM class present.
Are test reports provided?Serialized IL/RL reports and end-face inspection images are available upon request.
What’s the minimum bend radius?≥10 mm at the fiber core and ≥7.5 mm at the jacket to minimize micro-bend loss.
What tensile load can I apply during pull?80 N short-term. Use proper pulling grips; do not exceed published limits.
Is the jacket halogen-free?Yes—LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) for improved safety in occupied spaces.
Operating/storage temperature?−10 to +70 °C operating; −40 to +85 °C storage.
Do you offer armored LSZH?Yes—armored variants for higher crush resistance are available on request.
Cleaning & inspection guidance?Always inspect → clean → inspect. Use MPO-compatible click-cleaners and scopes; never mate dirty connectors.
How do I calculate optical budget?Add fiber attenuation plus each mated pair’s loss; keep below transceiver budget and allow margin for aging/contamination.
Can you pre-label and color-boot branches?Yes—custom color boots, laser-etched IDs, heat-shrink labels, and QR codes are available.
Which compliance standards are met?RoHS, CE EN 50575 (CPR), ISO 9001, WEEE, EIA/TIA, Telcordia GR-326-CORE, TIA-605-4 (FOCIS-5).
Can I request specific fan-out lengths/stagger?Absolutely—provide panel model and desired branch lengths; we’ll build to spec.
Lead times for common configs?Standard OM4/Type-B in 12/24-fiber counts are typically quick-ship; customs may add production days.
Support for turn-up and lane mapping? Our applications team can provide lane-mapping diagrams and remote/on-site assistance for deployments.
