USB-A is fading but still expected as a second port for another two to three model years. Wireless charging pads (Qi 15 W) are an add-on at the bedside and dash, not a replacement for USB-C.

Rules: every outlet circuit is fused at the distribution panel, labeled, and sized for 3 percent drop (see the 12 V panel guide). USB-C PD outlets have inrush on connect; a slow-blow or a breaker avoids nuisance trips on 10 A circuits. Sockets rated 10 A must be marked and fused at 10 A; do not put a 15 A fuse on a 10 A socket. Reverse polarity destroys most USB-C outlet electronics; use polarized connectors or color-coded terminals on the harness.
Placement checklist for production
- One USB-C within arm's reach of every sleeping position, mounted where a cable will not be pinched by a slide or bed mechanism.
- Dinette or desk outlet with 60 to 100 W for laptops; two if the table seats four.
- Dash: 12 V socket plus USB-C, positioned so a plugged-in adapter clears the shifter and cup holders.
- Galley: a 12 V socket near the window on its own circuit; this is where the Starlink Mini car charger lands in most builds.
- Exterior: sealed 12 V under the awning on its own fuse; a DC pass-through socket next to it if the build includes a Starlink option.
- Heat: USB-C PD outlets dissipate 3 to 8 W; do not bury them in insulation or against a heater duct.
- Serviceability: outlets accessible from the front with a retaining ring, harness with a plug-in connector so a failed outlet is a five-minute warranty swap.
