The 1/2" Rigid Compression Connector provides a secure mechanical connection between 1/2" Rigid or IMC conduit and electrical boxes or enclosures. Engineered by Conversions Tech's US engineering team and manufactured to specification at certified partner facilities, this connector uses a screw-tightening compression mechanism to create a tamper-resistant joint that maintains integrity under vibration and mechanical stress. The zinc-plated steel construction delivers corrosion resistance for extended service life in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations.

FAQ

What is the difference between a compression connector and a set-screw connector?

Compression connectors use a threaded collar that tightens around the conduit, creating a secure mechanical grip and grounding continuity through the compression interface. Set-screw connectors rely on a single screw piercing the conduit wall. Compression connectors are preferred for applications requiring higher pull-out resistance and vibration tolerance.

Is this connector suitable for wet locations?

The zinc-plated finish provides corrosion resistance. For wet location installations, verify that your overall conduit system and enclosure ratings meet NEC requirements for the specific environmental conditions. The connector itself is rated to 90°C for temperature performance.

Can this connector be used with EMT conduit?

No. This connector is specifically designed for 1/2" Rigid (GRC) and IMC conduit only. EMT requires connectors with different thread and compression specifications. Using this connector with EMT will not provide proper fit or code-compliant installation.
